Communications Policy<\/u><\/strong>
\nAttendance<\/u><\/p>\n

Parents are expected to contact the school before 10:30 a.m. with reason for the pupil\u2019s absence. On the pupil\u2019s return to school, the parents should provide the pupil with a note giving reason for absence.<\/p>\n

If a pupil is absent for a period of 3 days and if the parents have not contacted the school, the school, normally contacts the parents requesting reasons for absence.<\/p>\n

Medical\/Other Appointments<\/u><\/p>\n

Parents are requested to inform the school in advance, in so far as possible, by means of telephone call, note of memo. If a pupil requires to leave the school for any reason, he\/she must sign the \u2018out\u2019 book.<\/p>\n

Attendance at School Related Activities<\/u><\/p>\n

Pupils and parents are informed in advance and parental written consent, where deemed necessary, is expected.<\/p>\n

School Calendar<\/u><\/p>\n

As early as possible in the Academic year, the school provides pupils\/parents with details of the School Calendar and school holiday periods.<\/p>\n

Details of any unscheduled half-day\/early release from classes are communicated to pupils\/parents in advance, in so far as possible.<\/p>\n

Parent-Teacher Meetings<\/u><\/p>\n

As early as possible in the Academic Year, parents\/pupils are given details of Parent\/Teacher meetings planned for that Academic year. A written reminder is sent to parents nearer the particular meeting relevant to their son\/daughter.<\/p>\n

Examination Results<\/u><\/p>\n

Leaving\/Junior Certificate results are handed individually to pupils.<\/p>\n

Results of Christmas, Pre-Examinations, and Summer examinations are given to parents. If for any reason a parent fails to receive examination results, within a reasonable period of time after publication, that parent should contact the school for a further copy.<\/p>\n

Student Progress\/Behaviour<\/u><\/p>\n

Parents can contact the school at any time during the Academic Year, requesting details of pupil\u2019s progress\/behaviour.<\/p>\n

The school, from time to time, may contact the parents concerning pupil\u2019s behaviour\/performance\/progress etc.<\/p>\n

Distribution of Correspondence<\/u><\/p>\n

All correspondence\/communications relevant to Board of Management, Foireann Scoile, Parents and Students\u2019 Council is distributed upon receipt.
