Public Speaking

Public Speaking

Public speaking offers our students a platform to hone their communication skills and to express themselves. It’s fun, it’s entertaining and it’s a great way to make new friends and to engage in important issues. Oral communication is now a significant aspect of our English syllabus. Our students take part in a variety of public speaking competitions including the Cork Mental Health Public Speaking Competition, where the students share their ideas on how to maintain a positive mental health. Gaelcholáiste Mhuire A.G were the overall winners of this prestigious competition in 2016 and were runners up in the 2017 final. As overall winners our public speaking team presented their speeches on mental health to an audience of 400 students in Cork City Hall. We look forward to another successful year of public speaking.
